The baby sweater pattern is nearing completion! All that remains is getting the cover picture . . . wait a minute, it's almost April. Forget about seeing the sun ever again.
April showers bring my birthday. And what does this girl want for her birthday? Money to spend at the Greencastle
Fleecefair. Never mind that I have more fleece than really needs to be discussed in polite conversation. I am going with a purpose though. I would like to find a nice drop spindle, even thought I'm getting one of these
babies. (first one on that page) And I don't have a gray fleece, which is just a crime. Gray takes dye so heavenly. I will probably help a friend in her booth and take some of my patterns along.
Yesterday, I spun some of the fiber I had processed at
Wooly Knob. It's a soft brown, normally not one of my colors, but the wool was free from my mom's neighbor. I know, I know, 'free' wool usually isn't the most spectacular, but this is really pretty good. And I want to keep it the natural color, even though I know a burgundy dye would be outstanding. I might have enough to have some natural and some dyed, because I think I'm more than halfway through, but the bag doesn't seem to get any smaller. I spun two full bobbins yesterday and plied them this morning. I have three wonderfully fat skeins. And I got the returns on the dye swap, but didn't get pictures yet.
Happy Easter! Don't dump that dye down the drain, sock some wool in it!
